Title: Berlin, "Gespenster" People in the image:
English: ADN-Zentralbild (Image Centre) – Reiche – 18 November 1983 – Berlin: The premiere of Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen on 18 November 1983 in the reopened Kammerspiele (Chamber Play Theatre). Under the direction of Thomas Langhoff, Inge Keller (left) played Mrs. Alving, Ulrich Mühe (middle) her son Osvald, and Simone von Zglinicki the maid Regine Engstrand (right). The Norwegian family drama is one of the scandal-ridden pieces of the 19th century; when it was released it caused a storm of indignation, and it was only successful on the Berlin stage.
For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Factual corrections and alternative descriptions are encouraged separately from the original description. Additionally errors can be reported at this page to inform the Bundesarchiv.
